mission statement
This ministry is a never ending fullfillment of a call of God. It is here because of Him, for the glory of Him, and to assist His people. I would love to take credit for what Open Door has become, we originally were going to be a church plant focusing on my version of Christianity, and shamefully would probably have gleefully slain the spirits of those within orthodox Christianity who did not agree. Thankfully, the Lord had other plans. Open Door has many contributors, though many don't even know what a role they have played in making this current iteration a reality.

The Mars hill mess, or Mars hill Massacre depinding on your POV
Posted February 9th, 2008 by EricSeems there is some stuff brewing at Mars Hill Church, not sure what it is all about, but I am attending the Resurgence conference later this month, I think, and sure would like to know whats what before i go.
Going into Investigative Journalist mode to see what I can dig up.
If you have any information, or are one of the Offended, on either side, please let us know what has happened and your side of the issue.

As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our service men and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.
We also remember the families of our troops, and ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes and your peace, provision and strength to fill their lives.

Posted February 8th, 2008 by EricThis site has been a blessing to me, it has forced me to look at some issues in my life that are not where they should be. The lord has been bringing to my attention alot of areas where He is not Lord, places where submission has been far from total.
About Prayer
Posted February 7th, 2008 by EricIt is our firm belief that without prayer, the body of Christ is like an Olympian who refuses to train. That the Lord has given us the opportunity to participate in the mighty things He is doing. And that throughout scripture we are commanded to pray. And if we do we will see the power of the Spirit of God move
* In our families, and those unsaved we come into contact with.
* In our personal lives, and testimonies. As we cling closer to God we will become more like Him.

Posted February 5th, 2008 by EricWell so far so good, drupal seems to be really configurable. Will be awesome to see what this all becomes. Praying this will be used of the Lord to set some captives free, starting with me.

Forum software installed, if you have been active in the blogging community long you know that at times a post will get attention, and you wish to continue posting on it while the community has moved onto other posts. Forums make it easy to continue discussing a topic months or even years later.
